Google Docs: Advantages and Disadvantages

Google Docs is an internet based document processor that supports simplified file creators, such as documents, presentations, spreadsheets, etc. You can sign up for Google and gain access to Google Docs here. Below, five advantages and five disadvantages of Google Docs are listed. Please comment on your experience with Google Docs.

Advantages of Google Docs
  •  Access to files anywhere with Internet access
  • Files can be viewed on different platforms (PCs, Tablets, Phones, etc)
  • All files are password protected
  • Easily share files with other Google account users
  • Automatically saves file while typing

Disadvantages of Google Docs
  •  Limited formatting ability
  • Allows more than one user to work on a document at any given time
  • Can experience lag during "peak" hours, usually during the day
  • May not export properly/poor format transition
  • Cannot be accessed offline
